Mary Jane Joined SNL Writer, Alan Zweibel in Writers Workshop

Mary Jane recently participated in a Writers Workshop led by SNL writer, Alan Zweibel.

Zweibel, best-selling author of Bunny Bunny, play write and Emmy award winning TV writer, spoke about his writing and career, read some samplings of his work, and gave some coaching. Mary Jane brough some of her own favorite materials to share with Zweibel and fellow participants.

Zweibel is an original “Saturday Night Live” writer who has won multiple Emmy, Writers Guild of America, and TV Critics awards for his work in television which also includes “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show”(which he co-created and produced), “Monk”, and “Curb Your Enthusiasm”.

Zweibel is currently working with Billy Crystal on the feature film version of “700 Sundays” which is scheduled to go into production in December, is an executive producer on Showtime’s documentary series “Inside Comedy” starring David Steinberg, has just finished writing a forthcoming one-man Broadway show for Darrell Hammond, and the film rights to his latest novel, “Lunatics” (co-authored with Dave Barry) was recently purchased by Universal Studios with Steve Carell attached to play one of the lead roles.
